Join 'Soul Reason'!

'Soul Reason' first came about during the early 2021 lockdown as a response to the growing feelings of isolation and the need to create and connect during what has been a really difficult time for all of us. Initially online, we met up once a fortnight to sing, chat and ultimately put our worries on the back-burner for a short time. It proved to be a lifeline for many of us.

We created a virtual choir performance for World Voice Day that you can see by clicking on the photo. At this point we hadn't ever heard ourselves sing together!

Now, we are a full-fledged choir and enjoy performing regularly with our own 4-piece band.

Sessions take place on Thursday evenings 7.30pm-9.30pm (term time) at St.Joseph's Primary School, Newbury

WANT TO JOIN? WHAT DO YOU NEED?

- Enthusiasm, a sense of humour and rhythm!

- Some musical ability. You will be given sheet music, but it is not expected that you sight-read or that you will be a proficient music reader. We tackle the repertoire in lots of different ways, to ensure it's accessible.

- Commitment to attend Thursday rehearsals (7.30-9.30pm) and to make use of the resources between sessions as is helpful to you.

- Commitment to pay a termly sub of £97*
