Maia Hendrickx - Musical Director
Since graduating from East15 Acting School, Maia has worked professionally as a soloist, session singer and vocal coach. Whilst specialising in Musical Theatre, Maia enjoys working in a number of different genres. Among her current musical projects, she is one half of Americana/Folk Duo ‘HendrickxRoy’ and also a regular guest vocalist for ‘The Clive Fortune Big Band’. Alongside performing, Maia runs a busy studio in West Berkshire, where she trains aspiring young musical theatre performers.
After completing her PGCert in Vocal Pedagogy, Maia was invited to speak at the 2019 ‘Voice Geek Conference’ to share the innovative findings of her research on ‘Depression and Its Impact Upon the Working Practices of the Professional Singer’ to an international audience of her peers.
In 2020, Maia accidentally started a choir, online, in the middle of a pandemic. Since then, she has loved working with the singers that make up ‘Soul Reason’, who bring her joy every Thursday.
